A Note From Rachel -
My parents went through a divorce when I was about 7 years old. My parents’ separation exposed me to a different aspect of relationships and families while growing up. I believe this knowledge is what has helped me to be someone that our clients can talk to and can reach out to when they are in need.
In high school I took a Law class as my elective in both grade 11 and grade 12 and had the same teacher in both years. The passion that teacher had for law, and the excitement and knowledge that he passed on to us, really impacted the way I felt about law.
It completely changed my career path from the arts to the legal industry. I had always liked homework and the writing assignments in my English classes in school, and so when I saw the university program option for a Legal Administrative Assistant, the description seemed to be exactly what I was looking for.
Having parents that went through a divorce and seeing how my mother's lawyer helped her through the process, made me want to help people get through tough times in their lives in the same way. I believe my experiences helped to give me an understanding of what our clients, and their children, are going through.
