A note from Emily

“I became a lawyer because I have always had an innate desire to help others. Before pursuing a legal career, I was a registered dietitian. During my practical training to become a dietitian, I worked in a variety of settings, from public health offices to the ICU. Working in healthcare taught me the value of using a calm, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach in challenging and stressful circumstances, and I aim to bring that same approach my practice as a family lawyer.

I have seen the often devastating emotional and financial toll of family law proceedings in my personal and professional life, which is why I believe that most family law files are best resolved outside of court. However, the personal nature of family relationships means that each family law case is unique. Whether a case is resolved in or out of the courtroom, my goal is to help clients achieve practical long-term solutions that keep their best interests in mind.”
